[ His expression softens. The affection is strong and almost overwhelming. Of course. ]

Thank you. I know not what we will find, but I am glad to have you at my side again.

There is little that can stop us when we fight side by side.

[ Smiling, he reaches over to put a hand on Cacao's arm, then lean in and gently rest his forehead there as well. Just taking quiet strength from the other. Not the first time, won't be the last. But maybe the first time he's been so openly honest about it.

Then he wrinkles his nose gently. ]

You are right, my friend, but also truly kind to not comment on the smell of wet wool. Forgive me, before we plan anything, I fear I must properly bath.

[ He pats his arm and then takes his basket of goodies to skitter off towards the bathroom. Unlike a certain someone who just stripped right there, Pure Vanilla is incredibly shy. ]

[ it's been many dark years since he's seen his friend so blatantly seek out a moment of comfort and support. But before he can respond to that or the comment-

(He would have noted that a little wet sugar sheep wool was nothing to him compared to the reek of some of the cocoa goats he's wrangled. Would have asked if Vanilla ever hauled lambs over his shoulders like the paintings of shephards Cacao has seen in past. If this form made him nostalgic)

- but his friend skitters away before he can even ponder words. He reaches up and touches the spot his head rested, like a crack he can't help picking at. With a sigh he stands, making his way to his drying clothing. The pants are still damp, but not enough to stop him putting them on and heading to the window. He leans against the sill, staring out at the woods with a stony expression]

[ Pure Vanilla is done, at least, in record time. He's not one to luxuriate. Plus his robes need a good cleaning to, so he lets them soak after drying himself off and... shifts into a sheep. And will then clip clop his way back to the living room, a round honey and pine scented puff of wool.

He doesn't think Dark Cacao has seem him like that yet, so the Ram - eyes still closed ironically - may somehow manage to look a little nervous. Technically he's still naked but now everything is lost in the roundness of wool, and when he hunkers down beside the fire to let himself dry off better, nothing can be seen.

Do sheep blush? His face feels warm but thankfully nothing is given away. ]

Forgive this form, my friend, I must let my robes soak a bit to clean them, and I ... ah... the towel did not entirely cover right.

[ AKA his entire body. ]

[oh that sure is a sheep. His eyes widen slightly]

When you said this form gave you new abilities I will admit I did not expect this.

[here he's gonna sit across from him in front of the fire so they can talk properly]

[ Charming gets a tail wiggle in return, and an extra one when Dark Cacao settles himself down as well, about to protest the movement - he doesn't want Cacao uncomfortable! - but decides not to. He knows the other would deny it.

So, since looks don't work too well on sheep faces, he reaches out to gently touch the tip of his nose to Cacaos hand in affection.

It also helps him locate him because he left his staff in the bathroom]

It is quite handy, though it took me a moment to get used to walking like this

[and without really considering his actions Cacao starts petting him once his nose touches him]

Four legs. Not surprising.

[ Oh!

The pet startles him for a moment, his ears flicking up briefly, before slowly going back down in contentment.

Tail goes bbblbllblb. ]

Oh, that's rather nice. I believe I understand my sugar sheep a little more now!

[ now that he has approval he's gonna dig his fingers into the wool for deep scritches]

It is thicker than I imagined.

[ O-oh that's...

He will begin to go a little boneless, his head extending out to rest his chin on his friends knee.

Soon small content bleats follow. It draws the attention of the plantimals who are quick to take advantage of big sheep bed. ]

[And Cacao outright laughs at that]

Charming indeed. You look quite comfortable my friend.

[ He would huff at the laugh but he's too happy to bother. ]

It is... quite nice...

[ It's very difficult to form words when your being scritched into a coma, the strawbunny digging rapidly at the wool to mimic Cacao before loafing into it, the stoat curling up into a ball to nap. ]

[Seeing his friend bedded with the little creatures makes something shudder in his heart. A familiar feeling. Like a smaller less soul wreaking version of when he first held his son. His heart aches with affection and yearning. His scratches slow to a more lazy petting]

Ah... now we can not move. You'd been claimed.

[ If Pure Vanilla knew Cacao was having a Crisis, it would make his ears burn red. As it is, the words make him smile. ]

Whatever shall we do? Ah, I will have to move soon for my robes, I'm afraid.

[ Doesn't even twitch. ]

Mmhm.

[also not moving. In fact he leans back on one hand, still slightly petting with the other. Staring sleepily at the fire. Content]

[ There's a not so small part of Pure Vanilla who wishes he had been able to bring his Staff, so he could see the look on his friends face right now. He also wonders if he can blame being part animal in the desire to crawl forward to curl further into the other's lap.

Instead he lays there quietly, soaking up the warmth from the fire and the comfort his friend offers him in so many ways, enjoying the rather soothing touch of the petting. It coaxes him lightly into a gentle doze; not fully asleep, but the way his head gets heavier on Cacao's knee, it's obvious he's drifting.

The moment he dips too far down? He loses concentration on his form change and the next minute there's...... well. Pure Vanilla Cookie back to 'normal'. Enough wool covers everything naughty but there's a sudden amount of chaos as Pure Vanilla makes a loud bleating noise of startlement and surprise as the strawbunny slips off onto the floor and the stoat sleeps on cause screw you all. ]

[He had been perfectly content to let Vanilla nap- he knows his friend and his sleeping habits, and sharing a home makes it all the more obvious that he doesn't sleep enough-

(not that cacao is any better, he knows)

- only to also bark out a curse when Vanilla changes shape. Oops... guess it needed concentration to keep.

That suuure is a lot of dough he's getting an eyeful of, even if certain parts are hidden by the wool. Including the intricate designs he's only ever seen in passing glances. He quickly reaches over to grab his mostly dry by now cape and drapes it over his friend with... only slight hesitation, his face a little darkened but otherwise maintaining his cool]

Calm, it's just me and the beasts.

[ The noise that comes out of Pure Vanilla is ... pure embarrassment, but also a really low sheep noise that is actually sort of hilarious. Bleh noise more of a bah noise. When the cape drapes over him, he looks grateful and shifts the edges to cover himself more properly. ]

I know, forgive me. I think I was dreaming and to suddenly be not was- a-and to be-

[ Showing SO MUCH SKIN. He knows it's Cacao, he knows they're such close friends that the other probably knows him better in his habits than he knows himself, yet Pure Vanilla has always been shy. Half just because of body shyness and half because of what he's done to his body to get the amount of power he commands. There's a lot of forbidden symbols etched there, permanent reminders. He puffs his cheeks up and then sighs out a blow of air. Plus he's blind with his Staff in the other room so he's in a more vulnerable position that he normally is.

And to wake up with his head on Cacao's knee.... his brain gurgles. ]

Understandable. Take a moment to gather yourself- I will go gather your robes so they can dry.

[Ah. Cute]

Oh! Thank you, my friend.

[ He sounds relieved, and relaxes a lot. He pulls his cape the best he can over bits, ah!ing slightly. ]

May I ask you bring my Staff as well?

Mmhm.

[Off he goes, wringing the robes out properly and eyeing the Staff a bit before taking it up. He hands the Staff over right away before setting to work hanging the clothing up with his own]

[ The Staff is taken with a thankful smile. It's much nicer being able to see the area he's at. ]

Thank you.

[ And while still shy over it, he seems more comfortable now, petting the Strawbunny and Stoat as he watches his robes be laid out.

Doesn't mean he's not blushing. ]

[Vanilla what are you even apologizing for? Nothing to be embarrassed over]

[ When you become so well versed in grunts and hums you can understand your friend via it... ]

It was a lot of fuss, and I disrupted a peaceful moment. And it is not like you have not seen me before.
